Condolence: Hi Pop Pop
I miss you. I know that you're listening right now. It's been a tough couple of months for all of us. You've been nothing but strong through all of it. The last time I saw you was on Christmas. I just want to remind you how special of a person you are to me. I feel so fortunate to have had you here to watch me grow into the young adult I am today. We had a great relationship that not many kids are able to say they've had with their grandparents. I feel so blessed. I'll never forget spending the summers with you and grandma. I still have the notebooks that I wrote in each day spent with you and all of the fun things we got to do. I can't forget about all the vacations that you and grandma took me on. I got to go to so many places with you! We saw so much together! All the countless holidays spent together were always my favorite. Listening to fun Christmas songs and at dinner time you'd put on Andrea Buchelli & Frank Sinatra. Everyone at the table sharing old stories that ended with crying & laughter. The best story of all was you & grandmas. A true love story. 60 years of marriage and you still looked at her as if it was the first time. Your love for her never once came unnoticed. You were always such a gentlemen and everything you did, you did it for her or your kids. You were also the greatest father, son, brother, & grandpa. It's comforting to know that you are no longer suffering. You fought long enough. Enjoy your peace and happiness with God. Feel free to reach out to us to let us know that you're watching down from heaven.
I'll miss you forever and ever PopPop.
You'll forever be with me in my heart.
I love you so much!
I'll see you again someday.

Condolence: Pops was a great example of a husband and a father to me. His unconditional love for his family was evident in everything he did.

His steadfast love of his wife was an example to follow.

His determination and character was a pillar of strength and a reservoir of love for his girls.

When I look at the family he created, the love in their hearts is evident.

There is a void in our lives with his passing.
He will be missed.

I am a better man and blessed to have known Mike.

Condolence: There are so many stories and so many examples we could share that prove what a wonderful man our father was.
Dad had a way of making an impression on all those he'd meet; from his GENTLE, LOVING, SWEET SPIRIT to his EAGERNESS TO GIVE OF HIMSELF.
It is a true testament of a great man when others could easily see all the same qualities his family cherished.
Our father epitomized what every man should be as a Son,Brother,Husband,Father,Grandfather,Uncle and Friend.
Our hearts will forever hold the special love you've given us our whole lives.
WE LOVE YOU DADDY! SO MUCH!!!
GOD SPEED TO HEAVEN!

Condolence: Losing a loved one is never easy. I am still in disbelief that such a great man was taken so suddenly from our family. I love my pop pop so so much and will miss him every single day! I will never forget all the amazing memories and laughs we shared together. From summers spent at your house enjoying the pool, to boat rides, or just plain hanging out enjoying each other's company. Time spent with you was always great and will forever be cherished!! My Pop Pop was such an amazing husband, dad, son and grandparent. He was the most selfless, caring, sincere and loving guy. I always admired the relationship him and my grandma shared. He was the perfect example of a gentleman and what true love looked like. Loosing you will NEVER be easy but knowing you're with God looking over us is defiantly a big help in getting through this tough time. We have forever gained a guardian angel in you. I will miss you every single day! Xoxo
All my love,
Monica

Condolence From: Trisha Alves
Condolence: I'm Trisha, Mike's Grandson's wife.

Whenever someone passes I start to think about there birthdate and the day they passed, how they will be represented on a headstone or plaque. But those dates don't mean as much as the dash in between. Because that is all the time, memories that were made here on earth. Only those who know and love Mike know how much that little line is worth.

I've heard so many great stories that it is impossible to sit here and encapsulate Mike's life with a short comment.  I feel that no matter what I say … I’d be shorting him and what he meant to the people that loved him so much.  So the best that I can do is write about Mike from my point of view and hope that I can do justice for the ones’ that love him.
I first met Mike on a vacation to Florida with my husband. He was welcoming, kind and Funny. I immediately could see so much of my husband in him. I saw what a caring and loving family man he was each time I saw him after that. I could tell he has always held his family down, that is something anyone can admire. He was a man most aspire to be. So to me Mike is my grandfather in law, even though I see him as my husband's Pop Pop, his wife's shining star, and his daughters' hero.

So, while the titles might be different and the role that he played in each of our lives might be different… there are many qualities in Mike that we ALL loved.  It’s these qualities that bring us together to celebrate his life. It's true when they say that you are extremely lucky to know someone that makes saying goodbye so hard. I like to think that those we lose are always by our side, always remembered, loved and missed.
But if there is one thing that I’m sure of… it would be that Mike wants us to celebrate his life and not mourn the loss that we’ve endured. My love and heart is with everyone who loved Mike and I know he is resting peacefully in heaven.

Condolence: Rest in peace, Pop. I first met you when I was a kid dating Valerie and in the forty something years since, you've shown me how to be a better husband, father, friend and man. You and Mom have always given me unconditional love and support and made me feel so proud to be part of your family. So many wonderful memories you've given me over the years whether we were all on vacation together, watching boxing and Giants games on Sunday or when you subbed on our bowling team and we were accused of bringing in a Ringer! You set the bar high at everything you do as anyone who knows you can attest to. You will leave a huge void in the lives of everyone who knows you and I will miss my father in law and my best friend.

Condolence: What can I say guy! The world was a whole lot better off the last 83+ yrs because of you! I don't know what life is without you! I can only wish to make everyone's life around me as great & as happy as you have made everyone's while they were around you! You were such an amazing father, husband, brother, son & don't even get me started on grandfather.... Wheww there isn't any words that have even been invented yet to describe how awesome of a grandfather you were! I love you so much Pop-Pop! I'll never forget all the vacations we went on together cuz you made everyone laugh and made every trip so much better, (there's a lot of things to do if you really wanna do them). Going over to grandma & Pop-Pop's every Friday night in Vincentown & watching TGIF in the middle of the couch reclined between you & grandma! (Not the momma)!!! Going to FL for a few weeks or a month in the summer & swimming together & smelling Houstons across the lake, going out on the boat, letting me drive it a little bit, sitting in the den together, bowling together, you trying to teach me how to golf, ahaha, even though I was terrible you made it so much fun for me I bought my own set back in Jersey, getting me an Otis Smith autograph from him at the bowling alley, getting me a basketball hoop at the winter park house & talking to Stanley Roberts next door which led to him coming over and playing with me. Man there are so many ways you made an everlasting impact, I could write a whole series of books! But most of all I always looked forward to bringing the next new Adam Sandler movie over for us to watch and laugh at! No matter what movie it was your laugh made me laugh and love the movie even more! That was my favorite thing to do! Watching movies & laughing with you! I loved hearing you laugh so much! Every funny movie I ever watch I always think and say out loud, man my Pop-Pop would love this & I would love to watch this with my Pop-Pop! You have no idea how special you are to me! I will forever cherish every memory I have of u & never let it go! Go show Frank how singing is really done & go show Arnold Palmer how to drive a ball & hit every fairway/green & show Dick Weber what a real bowler looks like! I love you Pop-Pop! Rest in Heaven! They retrieved their finest angel! You brought heaven to earth so I can imagine how awesome you are making heaven now!
