Obituary for Deborah Jean Jackson

Deborah Jean Jackson
IN MEMORY OF
Deborah Jean Jackson

Deborah Jean Jackson, 66, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Mable Daring, born on March 16, 1951 in Harlem, New York. Deborah married Richard Jackson and had two sons, Rahsaan and Ibrahim. Rahsaan predeceased her in 1998 following long term illness.

For 18 years Deborah was an executive assistant at the prestigious law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP located in New York City. She retired in 2006 and relocated to Florence, South Carolina. While in Florence, she volunteered at the McLeods Womens Center and wrote a column in the local newsletter on health and wellness.

Deborah was a bodybuilder who competed nationally and received several trophies and accolades for her work. She was a role model for aspiring bodybuilders and took pride in the success of others. She continued to pursue physical fitness and wellness through the end of her life.

Deborah was outgoing, full of energy, always looking to help others and the life of any party. She loved life, her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She motivated others to go beyond their personal limitations and reach for greater potential. Since relocating to Vero Beach in 2014, Deborah was an active member of St. Helen Catholic Church and gave her time and talent to a variety of church activities. She enjoyed working out with her friends at Planet Fitness on a daily basis.

Deborah leaves behind, her devoted son Ibrahim and daughter in-law Tasha, her beloved grandchildren Darion, Morgan and Jared, former husband Richard Jackson, who she remained good friends with, her brother Fredrick Daring and his wife Joy, her sister Valerie George and her husband Allen. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends from all around the world.
