Catherine Roberts Smart (Cathy) died peacefully at VNA Hospice House on June 20, 2017 in Vero Beach, Florida at the age of 67.
Cathy was born on August 18, 1949 in Vero Beach, Florida to Harold A. Roberts and Maria Stalman Roberts. She is survived by her husband Doug Smart, sisters Mary Anne Mitchell (John) of Lake Mary, Florida; Midge Bray (Ron), Cocoa Beach, Florida; Patricia Criss, Vero Beach, Florida; Johanna Roberts, Fort Pierce, Florida and a brother, John Roberts, Dublin, Georgia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Maria Roberts, and her brother James Roberts-Gallo.
Cathy was retired from the Department of Defense after 40 years of service as a comptroller.
Cathy was a kind soul who had strong faith in God and walked with Jesus Christ knowing that He was her savior. For it is spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ and written by John, 11:25-26, "I am the resurrection and the life; He who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die."
