Horatia Alice DiBenedetto, 96, died Friday May13 after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of Theodore Gooch Peabody and Olga Anderson Peabody. Born in Kennebunk Maine in 1919, she graduated high school in Kennebunk.

She married the late George Peter DiBenedetto and lived in Newton, Massachusetts until his death in 1972.
Rachel, as she preferred to be called, was co-owner of Rachel’s Antiques on Cape Cod and was an avid supporter of the Humane Society.

She is survived by her son, George (Betsy) DiBenedetto; daughters, Lucia DiBenedetto of Portland, Maine and Maria (John) Guarnascelli of New York City; son, Stephen (Patricia) DiBenedetto of Austin, Texas; sisters, Agnes Pearson of Lexington, Massachusetts and Ruth Hunt of Utica, New York. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, one great grandchild, two nieces, and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers the family request a donation in her name be given to a charity of your choice.
