Margarete Marie Frieda Szipl (ne Saloga), 1922- 2016. Mrs. Szipl, who passed away peacefully in the VNA Hospice house after a yearlong decline in health, is survived by: her three loyal children, Heide-Ute Lundelius (ne Lindenberg) of Chicago, IL, Detlev Lindenberg of Smithtown, NY and Joerg-Uwe Szipl of Washington, DC; and sister, Margot Haemerle (ne Saloga). Born in Goldensee, East Prussia, she fled the advancing Russian armies at the end of WWII with her daughter Heide-Ute. Her son Detlev was born in Saxony after the end of the war. Mrs. Szipl emigrated to the United States in 1958, spent a long career as a RN in Chicago (Grant Hospital), where her son Joerg-Uwe was born, and Huntington (Huntington Hospital), New York. She spent her later years in retirement in Vero Beach, Florida, starting in 1996. At Mrs. Szipl’s request, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, kindly make donations to the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, FL.
