Obituary for Arthur Grau

Arthur  Grau
Artie Grau of Vero Beach, FL went to heaven on December 7th, 2016.

Artie was born to the late John and Henrietta Grau on September 3rd, 1924 in Richmond Hill, New York. Artie graduated high school in 1941 and enlisted into the United States Navy shortly thereafter. Following his honorable discharge, he met the love of his life, Anne and they were married on November 6th, 1948 and just recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Artie is survived by his wife, Anne; his children Steven and Maryann Grau of Stuart, FL; Bob and Barbara Grau of Massapequa, NY; Laura and Rick Schneeberg of Vero Beach, FL; Ron and Evelyn Grau of Boca Raton, FL; and Kathy and JJ Frank of Vero Beach. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Rick and Kelsey Schneeberg; Nicole Schneeberg; Monica Grau; Valerie Grau; Nick Frank; Christopher Frank; Ryan Grau; Nina Grau; Ivy Grau. Artie is also survived by one great-granddaughter Marianna Suarez.

Artie was in the car business his entire life. He started out in the insurance business as an Adjuster and later started a very successful used auto parts business. He sold his business at age 61 and retired to Vero Beach, FL where he spent more than thirty years with his wife enjoying retired life. Artie was very active at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church which meant a lot to him. He was also a fourth degree knight for the Knights of Columbus.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11th from 4 – 6 PM at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by a 6 PM prayer service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, December 12th at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Hillcrest Cemetery in Fort Pierce.
