Obituary for
Kenneth William Roberts
Kenneth William Roberts, 92, passed away June 5, 2017 in Vero Beach, Florida. He was born May 24, 1925 in Manchester, England.
Ken served in the British Army before emigrating with his wife, Margaret, to the United States in September of 1956. They lived in Agawam, Massachusetts for 30 years where Ken worked for Bay State Elevator Company as an elevator repair and service person until he retired in Florida in 1984.
Ken was proud to be a Mason for more than 50 years, and was named a Grand Master in 1967. He was also a member of the VFW and The Eagles Fraternity. His granddaughter, Stephanie, was a patient at Shriner’s Hospital, so he became a Shriner as a way to give back. Ken loved to sing, and loved soccer, especially Manchester United Football Club.
Ken is survived by his daughters, Deborah Polek (husband, Paul), and Donna Roberts; his grandchildren, Stephanie, Melinda, Michelle, and Matt; and one great-grandchild, Makayla. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Margaret.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2:00-3:00 pm at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th St. Vero Beach, FL 32960. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
