Obituary for Linda J. Richard
Linda J. Richard, 70, of Vero Beach, passed away Saturday, September 2.
She was born to the late Dudley Horne and Robbie Mallory on April 10, 1947 in Miami, FL. Linda graduated from Miami Jackson High School and went on to receive an associate degree in accounting from Jones College in Jacksonville, FL. She was the widow of Joseph D. Richard and has lived in Vero Beach since 1975.
Linda was legally blind, but she was active in the Visually Handicapped Club of Indian River County, serving as president for 9 of those years. She also volunteered as a teacher for the Brevard Association for the Advancement of the Blind and gave selflessly of her time for crisis line counseling and instruction.
Linda is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Bandy, of Macon, GA; nieces Joy (Jimmy) Crockett, of Hendersonville, TN; Teri (Brian) Van Duyn of Jacksonville; and nephew Joe (Tina) Bowker of Macon, GA.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Visually Handicapped Club of IRC or the Brevard Association for the Advancement of the Blind.
